I love Valentine's Day too - both for the aesthetic (isn't it interesting how often Halloween people are also Valentine's people? I don't have any deep thoughts about that, just something I've observed) and because love is so important to me, and I appreciate a day set aside for celebrating all the love in my life. It bums me out when people hate it, even if I do understand the objection to capitalism's co-opt of it; I suppose it bothers me more when I explain why I love it and people just reject that as a valid thing to enjoy and honour.

I've been trying to keep sane by listening to podcasts on my breaks at work - my work situation is soooOoOoOoOoooo bad right now and listening to people I enjoy talk at me for half an hour is helping a lot, lol. If you're in the market for recs, I'd be happy to share, but if you're not looking for recs I don't wanna be That Guy XD

Art Astra - on the conjunction of space science and the arts (one of the hosts, Emily, is a lovely friend of mine)

Handy Ma'am Hotline - I've only just started listening to this, but I've been enjoying her work immensely for a while, and her laugh makes me smile every time. Useful home repair and maintenance tips with queer solidarity and community prioritisation.

I Could Never... - Chill Polyamory's podcast, discussing with various guests polyamorous/ENM life.

In All Honesty - my therapist recommended me this podcast lol. Michelle Elman's a life coach and she has an interesting perspective on things - I don't always agree with her but I enjoy her podcast.

Our Relationship Pod with Emmy and Ify - idk if you're a Dropout person but Ify Nwadiwe and his partner Emmy have a podcast where they find r/relationship posts and discuss them. Funny, thoughtful, and I always appreciate hearing relationship talk from polyam/ENM people. Again, I don't always agree with them but they always have good and thoughtful discussions.

Roll Your Own Adventure - if you're in the market for a D&D podcast. My friend Jazz is on this one! She was the gnome necromancer wizard in the first campaign I DMed and I enjoy her creative play style so much.

The Final Girl Files - another friend podcast! My friends Taylor and Jemi have opinions about horror films.

The Penumbra Podcast - queer fiction in two long-form stories; Juno Steele never grabbed me, but it's a neo-noir set in space, and I absolutely loved the fantasy Second Citadel series. The creators have moved on to more Juno Steele work I believe? But obviously as that wasn't my bag I didn't follow that. But if you like it, they're great writers!

The People's Polygraph - friend podcast again! The aforementioned Jazz and Anna pick a new topic every week and try to trick each other with facts and "facts" about them. Like the most chaotic pub quiz you've ever been to. So much fun.

You Must Remember This - stories from the first century of Hollywood; I don't say 'old' Hollywood because there was recently a series that took us through the 1980s and 90s, but largely it's focused on older Hollywood. Really fun if you're interested in the topic!

The only one I've tried is Our Relationship Pod and I think I quit it because of something with the audio? Like it was soooo quiet I couldn't hear 😂
